Ring fling

A thief built like a bowling ball mugged a woman for cash and her diamond ring in the lobby of her Columbia Street building on May 18.

The victim told cops that as she entered the lobby of the building near W. Ninth Street at around 7:55 am, a bald, 5-foot-8, 180-pound man with brown, almond-shaped eyes pulled a gun on her and demanded the money and jewelry.

He got $500 and the gold ring and fled.
