60-minute swipe

A thief crept into a Lafayette Avenue apartment on June 4 and got away with electronics and jewelry before the victim returned within an hour.

The 56-year-old tenant told police that he left the home between Ashland and St. Felix streets at 10 am. He returned 60 minutes later to find his front door unlocked and his side window open. His drapes were knocked to the floor and $2,500, a necklace and two laptop computers were missing, he said.
