For those who make their livelihood along Red Hook’s waterfront, a year of anxious uncertainty ended last week, with official announcement of a long-term lease agreement between a container terminal and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
At the Port Authority’s annual meeting on April 24, the agency’s board approved a new 10-year lease with American Stevedoring International (ASI), the terminal operator since 1994.
The lease will keep the terminal on Piers 7-10
