In the first Saturday in May, a bit of Kentucky will come to Brooklyn.
Smack Mellon gallery in DUMBO will hold its annual Kentucky Derby party and art auction on May 3, complete with mint juleps, southern comfort food and, of course, some stellar art.
While those who bet on the winning horses traditionally come away from the Derby with cash, those at the gallery’s benefit get first dibs on one of the nearly 140 pieces of donated art pieces that come with the $250 admission price.
