The NYC Shaolin kung fu team, based in Williamsburg, attended the United States of America Wushu and Kung Fu Federation’s U.S. National Championships in Willamantic CT.
The team of seven students, comprised of three men, one woman, and three children, captured 10 medals in all: five gold, three silver, and two bronze.
According to the team’s teacher, Sifu Christopher Lee, “This was the most prestigious tournament of its kind in the US and is the fourth time NYC Shaolin has attended it since [the school opened] in Williamsburg in 1999.”
