The Fontebonne backstop was labeled by her coach as “clearly the best player in the borough.” To some that might be just a coach placing his player on a pedestal. But for the junior, it cannot be more true, as she was a pure all star behind the dish as she succeeded in calling signals for a team that went 15-2, including a playoff victory. In 2008, Fitzgibbons was downright tearing the cover off of the softball as she led the team in two of the three major offensive categories with a .556 BA, 11 HR and 28 RBI. The all-star catcher still has one more season to get some unfinished business done – a second round playoff victory and possibly a CHSAA title to her resume.
