Bring a blanket, pack a picnic dinner, and have some fun during the Wyckoff Farmhouse Museum’s free Thursday evening events, now to August 28 from 5-7 p.m. There will be lots of hot colonial cooking and games, so relax while gardening and re-discover the oldest structure in New York City.
Wyckoff Farmhouse & Museum gardener and caretaker Walter Howell will present a “Garden Workshop,” July 17, which will be continued with a second “Garden Workshop” by the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, July 24. Both workshops will be sure to help amateur botanist’s ideas of how to spruce up their garden.
Wyckoff’s Culinary Historian Carolina Capeheart is cooking “A Pudding or Two,” July 31 and “Gfarden Goodis,” August 7 for Wyckoff’s sessions of “Fireside Feasts.”
Bring your stick and ball as the New York Emperors Stickball League (www.stickball.com) comes to play an exhibition game, and teach visitors how to play stickball, August 14.
“Fireside Feasts” draws to a close, August 21, as Carolina Capeheart has “Gone Fishin” and cooks up her catch of the day for visitors to enjoy.
Wyckoff’s free Thursday evening events conclude August 28 with the last summertime “Cellar-To-Attic Tour” with docent, Lucie Chin.
