Bring in the Clones

The New York International Children’s Film Festival (NYICFF) presents a special advance screening of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, an exciting new addition to the Star Wars universe and the first animated feature film from Lucasfilm.

This event takes place at 5 p.m., August 10 at Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway (at 95th Street) in Manhattan. This will be the first and only east coast screening before the film opens nationally August 15, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Lucasfilm.

Star Wars fans attending this special pre-release screening of Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be treated to a full phalanx of Clonetroopers Stormtroopers, and other Star Wars costumed characters, as well as door prizes and audience giveaways. Ticket prices are $8 for children and $10 for adults. Advance purchase is recommended, as the event is expected to sell out. For more, visit or call 212-349-0330.

In Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the galaxy is consumed by the Clone Wars, a massive civil war that has pitted the Separatists and their droid armies against the Republic and its Jedi protectors. To gain an advantage in the ever-escalating conflict, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan learner Ahsoka Tano are sent on a mission with far-reaching consequences, one that brings them face-to-face with notorious crime lord Jabba the Hutt.

Meanwhile, on the front lines, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Master Yoda lead the clone forces in a valiant effort to resist the forces of the Dark Side. The story takes place in the time period between Episodes II and III and focuses on the young years of Anakin Skywalker, before he has gone over to the dark side to become Darth Vader.

Each year NYICFF scours the globe to present a highly selective slate of the best animation, live action, documentary and experimental film from around the world, with gala premieres, filmmaker Q&As, receptions, workshops, panels, audience voting and the NYICFF Awards ceremony.
