At the Regional’s, KCC’s women won eight of nine flights and Kikuch, Mayevski, Yushkova, Kamin and Manson all were selected to the tournament team for doubles. Coach Barry Goldsmith was selected the National Junior College Athletic Association Region 15 Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year.
“If all the players progress in singles and improve their doubles skills and strategy, the team will challenge for a National Championship,” said Goldsmith.
The women completed their season, beating Rockland 9-0, Fashion Institute of Technology 8-1, Orange 8-1, and Suffolk 6-3. Diana Derks contributed to the team by winning singles and doubles matches and Kit Rasulova was a team member.
