A blessing from the Brooklyn bishop added to the pomp when St. Edmund Preparatory High School dedicated its new building with a program of celebration.
Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio administered rites for the official opening of the Library Media & Fine Arts Center, a three-story, annex, which houses additional classrooms, and includes weight-training and music rooms.
The 15,000-square-foot building at 2474 Ocean Avenue also features studios for dance and the Fine Arts department.
A mass at the church, 1902 Avenue T, was followed by a procession to the school for ceremonial speeches and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.
