Despite facing a box-and-one defense, Chaz Williams finished with 38 points, seven assists and five steals for Bishop Ford, which used a 29-7 fourth-quarter run to rout Monsignor McClancy, 80-48, on Friday night in Brooklyn.
Sophomore Kamari Murphy had 16 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks and junior Nick Jones had seven points, eight rebounds and four blocks off the bench for Ford (3-0), which led 35-25 at the half and 51-41 at the end of three quarters.
Keith Brooks had 15 points and Brandon Rivera added 14 for McClancy, which fell to 5-2.
St. Dominic 73, Bishop Loughlin 68: P.J. Walters's 3-point play with 45 seconds remaining gave St. Dominic (1-1) a 70-65 lead in the Dan Trant Classic at St. Dominic. Joe Douglas had 14 points, eight rebounds and three blocks and Walters had 14 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Dan Kenny added 18 points and eight assists. Jayvaughn Pinkston lead Loughlin (3-1) with 23 points. Antonie Brown scored 14 and Trevor Hamlett added 11.
St. Raymond’s 82, St. Francis Prep 70: Harold McBride had 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting to lead St. Raymond’s (3-0, 1-0 CHSAA Class A) in its Class AA opener Friday night in the Bronx. Jose Rodriguez had 17 points and four rebounds, Sidiki Johnson had 15 points and 13 boards and Steve Whittingham added 12 for the Ravens, who shot 56 percent from the field and held a 38-26 edge in rebounds.
Robert Blazicevic had 18 points and eight rebounds, Robert Nacer had 15 points and five boards, Mike Murray added 12 points and Chris Fessler had 10 points for St. Francis Prep, which fell to 3-2 and 0-1 in the league.
St. John’s College (D.C.) HS 80, Archbishop Molloy 68: Russ Smith had a game-high 31 points, Ernest Rouse added 15 and Lebrandon Smith had 14 for Molloy (2-1) in an opening-round loss in the Gonzaga DC Classic Basketball tournament Friday night. Tim Snyder had 21 points, Derrick Thomas had 20 and Chris Martin added 14 for St. John’s (2-1). The Stanners will face St. Benedictine (Va.) in a consolation game Saturday at 5 p.m. at American University.
LaSalle 62, Xavier 58: Jarrel Joye had 21 points, Kameron LaTouche added 14 and Daemion Evans had 10 for LaSalle (3-1), which again rallied in the fourth quarter to the CHSAA Class A win. Chris Coyne scored a game-high 25 points and Euroy Smith added 16 for Xavier, which fell to 1-1.
