Dozens of families turned out to hunt for eggs, pet a real life Easter bunny, and eat yummy treats during the first annual Spring Egg Hunt at the Cabrini Green Urban Meadow in the Columbia Waterfront District.
Sponsored by local businesses the Coffee Den, Jalopy, Jet Set Salon, Everyday Athlete Studio, Brooklyn General Store, Red’s Tapas Bar, Old Brooklyn wine store and Pizzazz, the Spring Egg Hunt was attended by throngs of area youngsters who delighted in petting the day’s star attraction, an Easter bunny, who visited courtesy of Woofs ’n Whiskers.
Cabrini Green Urban Meadow is an 8,000 square−foot public green space at the corner of President Street and Van Brunt Street, which opened last year and is run by neighborhood volunteers. More events in the meadow are scheduled in the spring, including Jazz in June, which will feature free concerts every Sunday in June from 2−5 p.m.
