Freedom Train Productions will have an all-star line up of authors, activists, and an award-winning playwright who will facilitate talkbacks following performances at the “FIRE! New Play Festival,” August 12-13 and 19-20 at 138 South Oxford Street. There is a $5 suggested donation. The performances are wheelchair accessible.

The festival features three new works of political theatre all featuring black queer protagonists: Derek Lee McPhatter’s Bring The Beat Back, Ayanna Maia’s Woman to Woman, and Patricia Ione Lloyd’s Dirty Little Black Girls. The presented playwrights are resident playwrights at Freedom Train Productions this year.
