Guitarist Patty Larkin continues the successful second season of First Acoustics, October 17. Larkin will perform at First Unitarian Church, PierrepontStreet between Monroe Place and Clinton Street in Brooklyn Heights. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30, with a discount when purchased in advance.
Larkin’s creative approach to music combines her “slapsteel” guitar played with a drumstick and other sounds, combining acoustic instruments with modern technology. Part of her process involves looped or arranged tracks of music that inspire such songs as “Beautiful” and “All Souls Day.”
The First Acoustics Series will continue on a monthly basis through the church year, concluding with Livingston Taylor, May 22.
