Church Ave. BID toasts volunteers who make an impact

Budding grassroots gladiators and a pair of Finest from the 70th Precinct were honored for making “a unique contribution” to the community during a meeting of the Church Avenue Business Improvement District (BID).

The annual assembly %u2013 held at the Flatbush Dutch Reformed Church, 890 Flatbush Avenue %u2013 provided members and local residents with an opportunity to recognize and thank those who have assisted the BID with its service programs, including graffiti removal, public safety and area beautification.

The honorees, who received Community Service awards, were: Sgt. Edward Kraemer, Sgt. Beatrice Shafidiya and members of the 70th Precinct Youth Explorer Program, and Nathan Thompson of the Prospect Park South Association.
