Aspiring Kobe Bryants at the Brooklyn Sports Club discovered how its done in the big leagues when they challenged their mettle in a three-point shootout contest on Sunday.
More than 100 hopeful hoopsters had a minute to make as many three-point field goals as possible from five positions behind the three-point arc during the first such tourney at the Starrett City club.
“The draw was that people who shoot baskets don’t often get an opportunity to shoot with five racks and with the score board running like the N.B.A. does,” said Matthew Cofrancesco, the club’s executive director, who held the friendly competition to coincide with the National Basketball Association’s three-point shootout contest before the annual All-Star Game.
Mark Forde won in the Adult category, Andrew Coleman shot to top place in the Teen group, and Shama Coleman aced the Juniors.
