Backpack attack

An 18-year-old man was arrested for beating and robbing a man on Fillmore Avenue on July 23 — taking his backpack and cellphone.

The victim told police that he was near E. 32nd Street at 6:24 pm when the suspect and another man attacked him, throwing him to the ground and taking turns punching him in the face.

Eventually, one of them reached into the victim’s pocket and removed his cellphone, and the duo fled, according to court documents.

Popeye’s perp

Police arrested a 19-year-old man who they say robbed a Kings Highway Popeye’s at gunpoint on July 20, taking cash.

An employee told police that he was working the register inside the fried-chicken eatery between Avenue H and Utica Avenue at 3:55 am when the suspect entered, displaying a gun and demanding cash.

“Give me all the money, and hurry up before I shoot you,” the suspect allegedly snarled, before making off with the register’s contents, according to court documents.

Assault and resist

A 55-year-old man was arrested for beating a man on Avenue T on July 22.

The victim told police that he was between E. 56th and E. 57th streets at 12:13 pm when the suspect slugged him in the face and pushed him to the ground. Police say the suspect resisted arrest.

Hammer time

Police arrested a 44-year-old woman who they say beat a man with a hammer on E. 66th Street on July 20.

The victim told police that he was between Veterans Avenue and Avenue T at noon when the woman reached for the hammer and used to bash the victim’s right forearm.
