Obama is disrespected because he is the worst

Oprah Winfrey needs to zip it, worry more about her television station and keep her politics to herself. In a recent interview that the media maven had at the BBC, she said “President Barack Obama is disrespected because he’s black.”

Is she kidding? Well, Ms. Winfrey, racism has nothing to do with it. He is disrespected because he is a liar. When democrats ramble on and on about Bush and how he lied about weapons of mass destruction is he disrespected because of his race? No. When the Democratic party blames all ills on the Republicans and the Tea Party, is it blamed on the color of his skin? No again. But yet the disrespect flows and grows.

President Obama has lied on many occasions. He has flip-flopped on issues, claimed ignorance on many others, and has otherwise woefully mismanaged the office he serves. It has nothing to do with his color. It has all to do with him doing a bad job.

She added, “There’s a level of disrespect for the office that occurs in some cases and maybe even many cases because he’s African American,” she said. “There’s no question about that. And it’s the kind of thing no one ever says, but everybody’s thinking it.”

Sorry, O, just like when you falsely thought that the salesperson was profiling you — and she wasn’t — you are sadly mistaken again.

Unless this president gets his act together and starts to take responsibility for his actions, he will continually be disrespected, and rightly so.

Look, Bush is still being blamed and disrespected; and he was last voted into office two elections ago — and he is white. So save it, Oprah.

The latest debacle that President Obama has created is his affordable health care mandate, that is neither affordable or attainable. It will not provide insurance for every one. According to a column by Deroy Murdock in the Daily News “the Congressional budget office forecast last May that, even if Obamacare suddenly became as efficient as Swiss Federal Railways, 31 million Americans still will lack coverage in 2033.” So the president has lied yet again, “You can keep your current plan,” no surprise there. Wait, is that bigotry, or reality?

Not for Nuthin’™, but you can add, “I’m offended by these self-important celebrities who fancy themselves the true arbiters of our society,” to my list. Oprah needs to take off her bigot glasses and take a look around. President Obama was elected because of the speeches and promises he made, and now he is being disrespected because he has reneged on almost all of them. The country’s dissatisfaction against him is not because of the color of his skin, but the true color of his character. Racism has nothing to do with it.

I would like for you to list the so called promises that the president has reneged on, one by one, for starters.
I would also point out that, the Affordable Health Care, with its faults, because of the website debacle, and a few other issues, became a washed down law, thanks to the lack of support from the Republicans. Single payer was the only way to go, but there was no way that ins. companies and their cronies would get cut from the greedy money they make. At least this president tried to remedy a situation that is a disaster, has been a disaster for many yrs. The richest country in the world, with its very severe health coverage issues, and it is a known documented fact.
You say he lied about people being able to keep their ins., I see it as him not being informed, either from his end or from the folks he hired to keep him informed. You compare Bush with MWD'S, in terms of skin color, you miss the point, Bush lied, and as a result, war broke out, many of our own died, many innocent folks overseas died, and Bush well knew that Iraq has no WMD's, they did not have the capability at that time. Again, if one reads, and researches, one can attain this info. Mr. Obama is trying to save lives by putting forth an affordable health care act. Big difference between the 2 presidents. With regards to Oprah, she is not a fav of mine, however, she is correct in her statement that the opposition, will knock this president down every chance they get, because he is black. They are not happy about having a darker skin color person running this country. I am white, and it is clear, those like yourself who go around with blinders on about race do so, because it is easier to dismiss than to admit that this problem, like violence and guns in this country is out of control. It is precisely the reason why the right, the Republicans, etc... stop him from moving forward. Am I totally happy about his reign in the White house, no, but he is still a human being like us, far from perfect. We need a man like LBJ to let everyone that opposed him know he was not going to stand for it, and go into his blackbook.
I will not continue, but one can also research this fact. Problem is, if this current president would use tactics as LBJ's, they would come after him and probably impeach him, saying that he was using his blackness to threaten.
We live in an age of ignorance, sad~

it is a shame that racism is still so alive and powerful in this day and age. yes, much of the opposition to our president is racial in nature. and sadly, it is so subtle, that some of those spouting it don't even realize it. a couple of hundred years ago racism was open and obvious. Since the Civil War racism has undergone several "reinventions" - first the "Black Codes", "separate but equal" and even now, after a huge step - the election of a man of color as president - racism takes on the guise of "political disagreement". I have acquaintances that "hate" Obama with a passion and swear that it is merely politics - but they happily take his extended unemployment payments, and some happily are working on highway projects that are part of his stimulus package and others have gone back to college (actually retraining certificate programs to qualify for better jobs) and they don't identify this with is so sad.

Tee gee, so we come to the crux of the matter. If one disagree s with Obama ( or yourself), one is a racist. Obama and you are THE answer. No dissenting opinion allowed. Can't have it. I disagree, I'm invalid. I'm a racist.

We have a word for your viewpoint. It's not racism. It's FASCISM. Learn the word. You believe in it.

Lie after lie after lie after lie after lie after lie after lie after lie after lie AND the fools still love him. Joanna, this is one of your very best columns. Keep it up and don't try to convert the fools. They will love him no matter what he feeds them. And when they run out of THEIR B.S. they always inject Bush into the conversation.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

"And when they run out of THEIR B.S. they always inject Bush into the conversation. "

Ha. I've seen anti-Obamans inject Obama into discussions about take-out food, local traffic accidents and shoes ... just because they needed an Obama "fix."

lol again.

What? from NYC says:
FRIEND sez 'they always inject Bush into the conversation'??

Dude, where were you when GWBush's reps and fans blamed Clinton for 9/11, failed NK and Mideast agreements, bad U.S. economy and job stats, and falsely claimed that GWB 'inherited' a recession from Bill C? The blaming went on thru GWB's second term.

Seriously, did you just move to the US in 2009????

Marks from Ridge says:
Lol is really sophisticated, Sheila. Dave has it right. Throwing around the word "racism" whenever teegee or oprah don't like someone's argument is simply an attempt to cheaply suppress opposing viewpoints. They are the real drama queens, Sheila.
