Reader: Heroin havens a dopey idea

“Worth a shot” (by Caroline Spivack, Oct. 21) is the result of electing liberal politicians. Were they born dumb, or did they go to idiot school? Comments (1)

Sho-bad! Blow horn only on holy days, sez reader

I was surprised to see a photo of people blowing the shofar at the Crown Heights festivals. To the best of my knowledge, the shofar is to be blown only on High Holy Days services. Comment

Poll buzz! Readers sound off on Race 2016!

To Tom Allon (“Political Spin Cycle”), on your column concerning Trump’s reality show, take your head out of your liberal butt. We the “deplorables” will have the last laugh on Nov 8. Comment

Readers raise hell over ‘too-tall’ tower in Sheepshead Bay

I was shocked and horrified by your story and picture about the Voorhies Avenue Tower, the latest in a series of high-rise construction projects destroying Sheepshead Bay (“New tower looms over Sheepshead Bay” (by Julianne Cuba, Oct. 7). Comments (2)

Reader’s 5-cents: Buh-bye to bottle bill

I hear that New York State has a $19-billion budget surplus, so why not eliminate the annoying bottle bill? Comment
Letters

Read this! Ed tells Bill to be a ‘mensch’

Bill Glassman, I thought that it was very unfair and not very nice of you to single me out on the letters page (“Reader sounds off about ‘Sound Off’ hogs,” Sept. 23). Comment

Readers: ‘Racist’ Shav and ‘shame’ on Courier

Editor’s note: The following letters are in response to Shavana Abruzzo’s column, “Time for an Islam convention” (A Britisher’s View, Sept. 29). Comments (4)

What about me? Reader sounds off about ‘Sound Off’

I would appreciate it if your regular contributors, such as Ed Greenspan and a few others who are on your “Sound off to the Editor” page three out of four times a month, would take a short break and make room for me to squeeze in a comment on what’s happening to our beautiful Brooklyn. Comment
Letters

Reader wars! Al n’ Richie in the crosshairs

I can sympathize with Allan Rosen’s comments because I’m all for safety, whether it’s bike riding or driving. (“Reader: ‘The city screwed us in Sheepshead Bay’, Sound off to the Editor, Sept.2). Comments (1)

Lethal land! Trump Center’s toxic waste

It is unfortunate that the developer wants to disregard scientific papers that expressly say that opening up the toxic waste that is under Trump Shopping Center is more hazardous to the residents in the area than leaving it alone and capping it (“State: We can’t put a lid on toxic ‘Trump’ land” by Julianne Cuba, online Aug. 19). Reader: ‘The city screwed us in Sheepshead Bay’

Rarely do Community Board 15, the Manhattan Beach Community Group, and the Manhattan Beach Neighborhood Association agree on anything, but they all agree on moving the unsafe Oriental Boulevard bike lane to a safe location on Shore Boulevard where cyclists won’t have to contend with cars and buses (“Break the cycle: As city repaints controversial bike lane, locals renew calls to move it” by Julianne Cuba, online Aug. 19). Reader: Taste should trump tradition at Schnitzel Haus

I have reached out in the past to the community board and council members about parties in city parks, particularly Scrangello Park on W. 13th Street between Avenues U and V, yet the parties continue. Comment

Reader: Taste should trump tradition at Schnitzel Haus

I lived in Dyker Heights for several years, and, during that time, ate dinner with my wife and our friends at Schnitzel Haus, on several occasions. I never noticed the picture of Donald Trump on the walls (“Yuuuuuuge news! Trump photo back at Schnitzel Haus” by Caroline Spivack, online Aug. 10), but, if I had, I would have walked out immediately. Comments (9)

Meow fix! Kibbles and bits about kitty flea collars

I enjoy reading your newspaper, and I am hoping you can add a “Kitty Corner” because people can be ignorant about caring for animals. Comments (1)
