Funny money

A 26-year-old man was arrested on May 8 after he tried to pay for a night of revelry with a stack of counterfeit cash.

Officials said that the unidentified man entered a watering hole on Avenue U between Coney Island Avenue and East 12th Street at 12:30 a.m. and tried to pay for a drink with a phony $20 bill.

A vigilant bartender caught the deception and called the cops, who discovered that the suspect had $80 in counterfeit bills on him.

Cops from the 61st Precinct took him into custody for forgery.
