An 86-year-old man slipped out of his Baltic Street apartment for just a few minutes on Jan. 7, but that was enough time for a thief to steal jewelry.

The victim told cops that he went to the store at around 9 am, but when he returned to his apartment, which is between Hicks and Henry streets, he discovered the missing baubles.
