Left flat-footed

A good samaritan questioned a motorist as to why he hadn’t stopped after striking a parked vehicle on June 17 and had his foot run over for his trouble, police said.

The victim told police he was on Coney Island Avenue between Avenues N and O at noon when he saw a Nissan sedan strike the parked car. But instead of leaving a note, the 42-year-old motorist behind the wheel kept on going.

The witness caught up with the motorist at a red light on the next corner and asked him why he had failed to stop, but the driver said nothing and rolled off — catching the man’s toes under his wheels as he escaped.

Cops caught up with the motorist a short time later, charging him with assault in the third degree, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
