Lying robber

A cash-hungry cretin walked into the Sovereign Bank on Montague Street on Dec. 22 and passed the teller a note demanding cash.

The thief entered the branch at around 5 pm and handed the teller a note and said, “I will shoot you.” The teller handed over $2,000, sending the thief bolting out the door toward Clinton Street.

The man didn’t have a gun, but the teller told cops that she wasn’t taking any chances. Police couldn’t find the elusive criminal.
