School skirmish

A young troublemaker went berserk at George Westinghouse HS on Feb. 3, assaulting a school cop and sending him to the hospital.

The turmoil began at around 8 am when the irate 14-year-old student bumped the safety office inside the school, which is on Johnson Street between Lawrence and Bridge streets. The officer asked the youngster what was wrong, and got pushed in response.

During the scuffle, the teenager tore the officer’s radio microphone and beat him in the face with it, sending him to Long Island College Hospital.
