Ticketed and truculent

A man was arrested for temporarily restraining an officer who wrote him a parking ticket on Feb. 9.

Police say that the 41-year-old scofflaw had left his vehicle at a bus stop on Wallabout Street between Kent and Bedford avenues at 10:30 am. Within a few minutes, a scooter cop rolled by, and started writing a ticket.

The man objected and reportedly grabbed the cop, who continued doing his duty. But after finishing the ticket, the cop turned to leave, but the suspect would not let him go.

The officer soon got the upper hand and collared the scofflaw, charging him with obstructing governmental administration.
