Entry denied

Two thieves tried to break into an E. 21st Street home on Nov. 28, but ended up scrambling down a fire escape empty handed.

An apartment tenant told police that he was inside his home, which is between Woodruff and Caton avenues, at 11 am when he saw the thieves on the fire escape, trying to open a screened-in window.

When the tenant approached the window, the thieves scurried back down the fire escape — but they didn’t get far.

Cops were waiting for them on the sidewalk, ready to charge the with attempted burglary.
