A safe-cracker drilled into an ATM outside a Lorimer Street store on July 27, practically dismantling the machine and making off with thousands.

The store’s proprietor discovered the robbery at around 2:30 am, when he noticed that the front panel of the ATM — which is between Withers and Frost streets — had been removed. Upon closer inspection, he found a small hole in the safe door. When he cracked open the lockbox, he found that every penny of the cash machine’s $17,260 was missing.
