Open since September 2004, Kiku is a tranquil sushi restaurant that offers a lunch special ($8.50) that includes miso soup or a green salad with ginger dressing, a choice of Japanese style meat, assorted tempura, or sushi, followed by shrimp dumplings, a traditional california role, and a pile of crisp, salty “edamame” (fresh soybeans in the pod). For dinner, owner-chef Wen Zhuo offers classic plates of sushi and sashimi as well as a crunchy avocado wrapped in tuna slices and Chilean sea bass with miso glaze. Open Monday-Thursday, 11:00 am-11:00 pm; Friday, 11:00 am-11:30 pm; Saturday, 12:00 pm-11:30 pm; Sunday, 12:00 pm-11:00 pm.
