Chinese philosopher and tea enthusiast T’ien Yiheng once said, “Tea is a drink to forget the din of the world.” Jonathan Spiel has brought the taste of the world to their Park Slope Tea Lounge. “We mesh all tea cultures from English to Asian to Moroccan,” said Spiel. Spiel has expanded his menu to include soups, salads, grilled focaccia and panini sandwiches. For the kids (and the kid in all of us), there’s the popular “grilled cheese toasties,” which are “just little, round, yummy, warm toasties, that come in pizza or regular.” There are also delicious quiches. Tea Lounge naturally serves “lots of desserts” including pastries, croissants and cakes from local bakeries; beers from Brooklyn Brewery; and wines from neighborhood merchants. Full beer and wine list available. Open daily, early morning to late night hours, with happy hour from 5 pm to 8 pm.
