The Good Fork

Open since March of 2006, the Good Fork has become a staple for Red Hook diners. Operated by husband and wife team Ben Schneider and Sohui Kim, the restaurants offers a seafood-heavy menu featuring plenty of locally grown vegetables and neighborhood touches. Below the curved ceiling of the space, ravioli is served, stuffed with Swiss chard grown two blocks away, and hungry locals happily munch on the “Steak and Eggs Korean Style” while their vegetarian friends enjoy the tofu version. Schneider recommends trying the “Red Hook Cooler,” a mix of gin, muddled mint, lemon juice and simple syrup. To soak it up he suggests the homemade pork-and-chive dumplings that come with a soy dipping sauce. Brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am- 3 pm. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 5:30 until 10:30 pm.
