Fairway, “Like No Other Market,” opened in a landmark pre-Civil War coffee warehouse in Red Hook on May 2006. Among the chain at 52,000-square-feet of high quality and imported food. The market contains various gourmet departments, including a “made from scratch” bakery, kosher and non-kosher butchers, a large selection of artisanal cheeses, and Fairway’s own bottled extra virgin olive oil from Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Australia and California. The original Fairway was opened in the 1940s in Manhattan by Nathan Glickberg, whose grandson, Howard, now runs the markets. There is also a Fairway Cafe that serves breakfast, like Fairway’s pancakes with eggs any style. Lunch, offering a variety of paninis, sandwiches and salads, is served until the cafe closes at 8 pm. Open daily from 8 am to 10 pm. Delivery is available.
