Citi Field’s loss was KeySpan Park’s gain last week as Mets outfielder Carlos Beltran rehabbed with the Brooklyn Cyclones.
Beltran began slugging for the Coney Island minor league team on Wednesday to the delight of Cyclones fans.
During his stay, which lasted through Labor Day weekend, Beltran became an asset to the team and even helped the team score a win against the Lowell Spinners on September 5 after belting out a game-capping RBI single.
Through it all, Beltran was able to speak to the fans, sign baseballs and even chat with the press on what it’s like to be back in the minor leagues, even for just a short time.
