Starting pitcher Chris Hilliard won his league-leading ninth game with a two-hit, eight-inning gem while the Cyclone lineup did just enough to back him up.
The Cyclones got the winning run in the second on Patrick Farrell’s two-out RBI single. The insurance run scored in the seventh when Jeff Flagg ledoff with a double and later scored on Will Cherry’s SAC fly.
The win raised the Cyclones’ home record to 25-6 on the season and lowered to two the magic number for the division title over Hudson Valley.
