Bogus badges

A couple pretending to be police officers flashed a badge and robbed a 67-year-old man on Kings Highway on Sept. 12 — taking more than $200.

The victim was nearing Flatbush Avenue at 1:15 pm when the suspects approached, claiming to be police officers. The goons then forced the suspect to an awaiting car, where they robbed him.

Remote robbery

A 49-year-old thief made off with a radio-controlled motorized dragster on Sept. 11 during a confrontation inside Floyd Bennett Field near the Aviator Sports and Fitness Center.

The victim was playing with the remote-controlled car when the thief — whom the victim knew — attacked, and then ran off with it.

Dragged off

A motorist who had been pulled over on Utica Avenue tried to escape from authorities — dragging a cop several feet as he did so.

The car had just been pulled over near Glenwood Road at 4:27 pm when the motorist sped off, while the cop was holding onto the vehicle.

The cop suffered a number of injuries as a result — but was in stable condition after treatment.

Chain rippers

Two armed men robbed a 38-year-old man of his gold chain on Avenue K on Sept. 6.

The victim was nearing Ralph Avenue at 3:45 pm when the suspects approached, flashed their weapon and yanked the chain off their victim’s neck.

Flatlands raid

A pair of thieves forced their way into an E. 49th Street home in Flatlands on Sept. 13, where they beat and bound a 19-year-old tenant before robbing him of an assortment of electronics.

The victim told police that the thieves kicked in the door to his home, which is near Avenue H, at 10:50 pm, then struck him in the legs with a baseball bat.

When the victim fell to the floor, the suspects duct taped the teen’s hands and feet. They then went about ransacking the place, police said.

A goon on a bicycle pretended to have a gun when he robbed a 14-year-old boy on Ralph Avenue on Sept. 14.

The victim was nearing Glenwood Road at 6:55 pm when the unidentified suspect pedaled up to him with a hand under his shirt as if he had a gun — and robbed his prey of $3.

Shoved and robbed

A brute threw a woman to the ground during a Sept. 15 cellphone robbery on of E. 68th Street. The victim was nearing Avenue L at 7 pm when the suspect grabbed hold of her and ran off with her communications device.

Bicycle swipe

A thief broke into a shed behind a Nova Court home in Gerritsen Beach on Sept. 15 — taking a $700 bicycle.

The owner of the home, which is near Madoc Court, said the thief snapped the lock to the shed sometime after 6 pm.

Biting burglar

A 23-year-old burglar chomped down on a cop taking him into custody on Sept. 18 when a break-in at an Avenue U home went awry.

Police spotted the thief trying to break into the house between Brown and Batchelder streets just after midnight. But, when they approached, the thief hunkered down onto the floor and refused to get up.

The cops were forced to yank the thief up off the floor — and one of the officers was bitten on the thumb as a result.

The thief was arrested for both assault and robbery.

Gunned down

A gunman opened fire inside the lobby of a Batchelder Street building on Sept. 17 — killing a 27-year-old man.

Cops responded to 911 calls of gunfire in 2258 Batchelder Street at 11:10 pm, finding Kelly Avery lying on the floor. He had been shot multiple times. Paramedics rushed Kelly to Coney Island Hospital where he died of his injuries.

Anyone with information regarding the shooter’s whereabouts is urged to call CrimeStoppers at (800) 577-8477. All calls will be kept confidential.
