70th Precinct

Purse snatcher

An 18-year-old man armed with a fake gun stole a woman’s purse containing her wallet and cellphone on E. 16th Street on June 23, police said.

The victim told police that she was near Beverley Road at 2:15 pm when the suspect approached.

“Give me your bag,” the suspect allegedly snarled, before ripping the woman’s purse from her arms. When police apprehended the suspect, they found an imitation pistol, although it is unclear if he used the fake weapon in the robbery, police said.

Shack attack

A 47-year-old man was arrested for swiping headphones from a Flatbush Avenue Radio Shack on June 27.

An employee told police that he was inside the electronics store between Tilden Avenue and Albemarle Road at 2:50 pm when he saw the suspect grab the headphones and attempt to leave without paying.

Auto-body baddies

Two men, ages 21 and 22, were arrested for performing un-requested repairs on a man’s car, harassing him for money, and then breaking the car they repaired on 12th Street on June 25, according to police.

The victim told police that he was near Avenue K at 1:50 pm when the suspects approached him and asked if he wanted them to remove a dent from his car. He declined the offer, but the suspects proceeded to pound out the dent in his car regardless, and then demanded $300.

He said he only had $60 and, after some haggling, the parties settled on a $150 payment. The suspects then followed the victim to a nearby bank, where he withdrew $100 and handed over to them.

The victim then drove off, but the suspects followed him and began attacking his car, breaking both the front and back windshields and causing $250 in damages, cops said.

Cruel attack

Police arrested a 52-year-old man who they say beat up a woman on Flatbush Avenue on June 25.

The arresting officer was between Martense Street and Church Avenue at 9:30 pm where he saw the suspect punching and kicking the victim in the face and body.
