Bay Ridge

It’s number one in the USA according to Day Spa magazine, and it’s located right in the heart of the trendiest, busiest, happening spot. We’re talking about Green Spa and Wellness Center. In business since 1998, the full-scale luxury spa offers medical message therapy, corrective skin care, pre-natal care, bridal care, vegan nail therapy, alternative healing, acupuncture and wellness mentoring.

With a staff of 50, including Zorina Beygel, master acupuncturist; and Orly Amor, an empowering mentor; Green Spa’s aim is to treat each person as a whole. “We want our customers to reach the ultimate goal of good health,” said owner Maria Ingardia.

Fellow owner Sheila Brody along with Maria started out as licensed message therapists and built the business from the ground up. In 2007, when they opened at their current location, they were on the cutting edge of eco-correctness, using all eco-friendly materials to retrofit what was the first sustainable building in Bay Ridge. State Sen. Marty Golden, (R-Bay Ridge) told Standing O that, “the center has been a leader in the community, and I wish them continued success.” So does Standing O.

James Brody, dad to Maureen and Sheila and husband to Bridget, is a retired sand-hog and Wellness angel— he’s also a customer. “Papa James suffers from black lung disease and before regular treatments couldn’t walk a block, but now thanks to all the alternative methods available, he’s able to sprint along the 69th Street Pier,” said Maria.

So whether you want to shed a few pounds, stop smoking, or just get all your chakras in a row, visit Green Spa, where your final destination will be good health.
