It was a monster menagerie.

Costumed kids invaded MCU Park for the Coney Island Children’s Halloween Parade on Oct. 24. The trick-or-treat-ready tykes had a blast hanging out with superheroes, ghouls, and goblins while showing off their own getups at the home of the Coney Island Cyclones, one parent said.

“It was awesome,” said Albert Caraballo, who took his son Aidyn, 3, to the Coney Halloween bash from their distant home in Queens. “We really enjoyed it.

Caraballo converted his son’s baby carriage into a full-on pirate ship — complete with sails and crow’s nest — to complement his tot’s appearance as one of Peter Pan’s lost boys. The enterprising stroller stevedore took nearly a month to make the carriage see-worthy, he said.

“It actually took me about three weeks working on and off every day,” he explained.

But all that hard work paid off, and the father-son duo took home an award for “Best Carriage Costume.”

Another Queen’s family won “Funniest Costume” for their Batman, Batgirl, and Robin costumes, but ironically, funny isn’t what they were going for, one winner said.

“We weren’t trying to be funny at all,” said Batdad Vincent Dimas, who came with son Anthony dressed as Robin and Janet Angelova dressed as Batgirlfriend. “We just wanted to all look alike.”

In addition to the costume contest, grown-up and kid ghouls alike were treated to face-painting and music, Caraballo said.

But kids’ favorite part was taking pictures with their costumed, superhero idols and showing off their own sweet outfits, Dimas said.

“[Anthony] loves the super heroes, so he was having a good time taking pictures with Captain America, and people were stopping us to take pictures of all three of us,” he said.
