Police have arrested and charged a Sunset Park man with two counts of criminal mischief after he allegedly vandalized a Bay Ridge mosque and a Sunset Park Islamic center on Nov. 11.

The man allegedly used used a hammer to destroye a camera and numerous windows at the Beit El-Maqdis Islamic Center, on Sixth Avenue between 62nd and 63rd streets, just after 5:15 pm, according to authorities.

Then he went directly from the mosque to the United American Muslim Association of New York, on Eighth Avenue between 59th and 60th streets, where he also allegedly used a hammer to destroy the building’s doorbell, doorknob, and mailbox just after 5:35 pm before fleeing foot, police said.

About a week after releasing surveillance video of the suspect, police arrested the 37-year-old on Nov. 22.
