Prosecutors charged a 35-year-old Kensington man with the murder of Corrections Officer Alastasia Bryan, his ex-girlfriend, on Feb. 15.

The suspect allegedly shot 25-year-old Bryan of East New York five times while she was sitting in her car near Avenue L and E. 73rd Street in Georgetown before heading to Rikers Island for work on Dec. 4, according to an indictment released by acting District Attorney Eric Gonzalez. Emergency responders found her unconscious and unresponsive in her car with bullet wounds to her head and torso at about 9:15 pm, and pronounced her dead, according to authorities.

Family and friends gathered for a candlelight vigil at the scene the next night.

Bryan’s murder was a cold-blooded execution, and a former member of New York’s Boldest deserves justice, according to Gonzalez.

“Officer Alastasia Bryan never even had a chance to defend herself from this cowardly defendant, who allegedly ambushed her in a deliberate, cold-blooded and calculated shooting,” Gonzalez said in a statement.

Gonzalez also charged the suspect’s 24-year-old New Jersey girlfriend for her purported part in the murder — cops are saying she and the suspect fled the scene in her Hyundai Elantra after he shot and killed Bryan. The car’s plates were registered in her name, officials said. And two days later, she paid a mechanic’s shop in New Jersey to store her car while the suspect removed the plates, according to the District Attorney’s office.

Gonzalez charged the triggerman with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, and his girlfriend and co-conspirator with hindering prosecution. If convicted, he could face life in prison, and she could face up to seven years. Both suspects will return to court on March 15, according to Gonzalez’s office.
