Some prowler broke into two cars parked on E. 45th Street and Avenue K sometime overnight on May 10. Here’s a quick rundown:
• The victim told cops he left his vehicle at the intersection around 11:40 pm and the next day found his driver’s side window broken and a bookbag taken from the passenger seat. Police say the bag contained several insurance cards and some cash, according to the report.
• A second victim told police that he parked his car at 10:30 pm and returned the next day to find his rear driver’s side window shattered and his wallet missing from the console. Cops say the crook got away with several identification and bank cards, and used one of his debit cards to make gas purchase.
Police are reviewing surveillance video on Avenue K.
A snake lifted a wallet from a woman’s bag at an Avenue U department store on May 12.
The woman says that she put her bag down to try on clothes at the store near E. 54th Street around 6:45 pm, and minutes later noticed her bag was there but her wallet was gone, according to police.
Cops said the victim was trying on clothes behind a store counter and not in a changing room, and left her bag on the floor during the change. The bandit fled with four of the woman’s identification and bank cards, according to the police report.
A noogoodnik stole a phone from a car parked on Utica Avenue on May 8.
Cops say the victim parked her car vehicle near Avenue J around 9:15 pm and went to drop off laundry. When she returned to her car 15 minutes later, her smartphone, some cash, and two of her bank cards were gone.
The woman told police that she left her car doors unlocked before entering the laundromat.
Some weasel stole a wallet from a car parked on Avenue U on May 9, and used it at a Ralph Avenue restaurant.
The woman told police she left her vehicle near E. 51st Street around 7:20 am with her wallet inside. She later found the billfold missing, and soon after learned that someone used one of her stolen credit cards to buy $20 worth of food at restaurant near Ralph and Flatlands avenues, police said.
Police arrested two women who they say stole pricey fragrances and make-up from an Avenue U chain store on May 10.
Cops say the two suspects entered the store near E. 54th Street around 7 pm and left with a large haul of beauty supplies. Store security alerted authorities and the suspects were apprehended, according to the report.
Two louts robbed a woman at an Avenue U park on May 9.
The woman told cops that she was in the park near E. 33rd Street around 7:40 pm when two good-for-nothings approached her and snatched her purse, before fleeing on a bike.
Cops say the 40-year-old victim was too scared to call police and did not report until the next day. The bandits got away with her credit card and some cash, according to the report.
A pair of brutes robbed a teen on Quentin Road on May 10.
Cops say the teen was near Madison Place on his way home from school around 4 pm when he was approached by the two brigands who asked to use his phone. When he told them “No,” the duo grabbed the phone from his hand and fled into a nearby park.
