Flatlands man found murdered in home

Crime scene: A homicide investigation is ongoing after the death of Sherod Watford, 33, whom police found unconscious and unresponsive with multiple stab wounds to his abdomen and torso at 7:30 am on Avenue M and E. 43rd Street. Emergency Medical Services pronounced the victim dead on the scene.

A man was found murdered in his Avenue M home in Flatlands on Sept. 23.

Sherod Watford was stabbed multiple times in the stomach and forearm, according to a police spokesman.

Police found Watford unconscious and unresponsive at approximately 7:30 am near E. 43rd Street and Emergency Medical Services pronounced him dead at the scene, police said.

The Medical Examiner determined that the cause of death was blunt- and sharp-force injuries as well as intense choking. Police have classified it as a homicide and the investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made.
